The discussion of the legacy of the storm on page 206 briefly mentions furniture made with wood fallen during the Hurricane. As of the publication of the first edition, I had not yet seen any of these pieces in person. Since then I have come across only one very distinctive type of furniture. After a couple of them made an appearance at some of my talks (brought in by audience members who wanted to show them up), it took a small dose of thrilling detective work to piece together the information above. The distinctive appearance of the chairs also means that I can now recognize them at a simple glance, even before examining the tell-tale markings under the seat. The new Chapter 10 in the 80th anniversary edition contains the additional information about these chairs that I was able to find.
